_________________________

A licensed game based around the cult comic strip character, recreating his daring attempts to defeat Mekon and save the earth.

The Anastasia ship is attacked by the Treens as soon as Dan steps onto it, although fortunately he picks up a laser on board. From then on, he must act as fast as possible.

The main task is to find each of the 5 parts of a planetary-destruction mechanism to the control room, so that it can be safely diffused. He can only carry one at a time, and once he gets the back he must find the correct socket for each one. Lastly he must escape to the surface.

Contact with a Treen will see Dan kidnapped and placed in the prison area; he can get out easily enough, but will now be in a different place. Getting hit by gun blasts will weaken him gradually.

Description from the packaging:

Arcade action that plays like a comic book.

As the deadly atomic asteroid zooms toward Earth, our hero must rescue his imprisoned friends Digby and Professor Peabody from the evil Mekon and his gang of Treen thugs...

"I'll drop this Treen slime-ball like a bad habit and get to that open hatch."
"Digby and the Prof could be anywhere. Good things I know how to swim."

Soon after Dan's swim...

"I can't squeeze through those rocks. Stripey, fetch that torch, it may come in handy."
Now deep into the maze of the Mekontan underworld...
"It's a jungle down here. And that hatchway sure looks dark... could be a trap."
"Stripey, you stud, this torch sure did the trick."
"Leapin' Lasers! I've found the Professor! Now, if we can just find Digby."
Later, with Digby and the Professor safely above ground...
"This laser will trash the Mekon's security system."
"Finally, that system is space garbage. Mekon, you're history, pal."
"So we meet again, Earthman? I'll barbecue you with my energy bolts!"
"Not so fast, galactic scum. Snack on my grenades!"

To be continued....
